Apesar dos estilos de luta orientais (especialmente da China e do Japão) serem sinônimos de artes marciais hoje por sua popularidade, práticas marciais em geral são provavelmente tão antigas quanto os seres humanos. Sim, isso significa que existem bem mais artes marciais do que essas do extremo oriente.
